SPRING COLOURS.
. . BLUE AND RASPBERRY RED. There is not one particular new colour, but what is new and exciting this spring are the new colour combinations. Two shades, fashion says, aye better than one, especially when one of them is pink. I had heard a lot about navy blue, grey, and so on, but on actually seeing the newest and loveliest models what struck me was the predominance of a beautiful pale shell-pink. It was used with black, and, what is newer, with navy blue. This is a marvellously becoming colour scheme. An adorable pink crepe de chine jumper suit called Aubepine (hawthorn) had a jumper embroidered with panne velvet of the same shade, a skirt with the newest fancy pleating, so tiny that it looked like pin-tucking, and was worn under a navy rep coat lined with pink. Another very successful suit was in royal blue crepella, with a jumper of raspberry-red crepe do chine, which also lined the short coat. Grey is worn again, particularly a very light, clear pearl-grey, most becoming to fair hair and skins. Beige is. always with us —it is too useful to neglect—'-but I saw only the “natural" shades, nothing bois-do-rose. Sand and “banana” shades are there, but no real brown at all, except for a line or two for contrast here and there. In fact, excepting only black and navy, all the spring shades are very light and soft.
r Bor evening, black and white undoubtedly tops the bill, though there are many all-white and all-black frocks. Bale pink ones, too, and I saw one in silver lace over mauve chiffon, with a great mauve chiffon flower, which I can only call a dream. Most appropriately, it was entitled “Honeymoon!"
