A grand concert is to he given in the Knponga. Town- Hail on Friday. The programme will he of an order rarely seen in this town and it will he sure to win the approval of all music lovers It will he remembered that the Hawera Methodist Choir secured the Shield in the recent competitions and it ,is this Choir that is responsible for the programme under the leadership of Mr H, C. A. Fox. A special feature at this time of the year, when spring flowers are in full bloom, is the flower show run under the aegis of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, ITawera. The dates arranged will he Wednesday and Thursday, September 14 and Id, and the committee is confident of having one of the best displays it has ever had. Entries will close on Tuesday. 'September 13, and schedules are obtainable from the secretary. A sale of work is run in connection with the show, and will be held in the Winter Show Buildings.
