FREE AMBULANCE SERVICE
INSTITUTED AT WELLINGTON. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. A free ambulance service has been instituted in ' Wellington, which will cover the country as far as Paraparauinu and the Rimutakas. Ultimately ten vehicles will be required, but a start will be made with less. They will transport .patients and nurses free of charge. Mr F. Rolfc, the superintendent, recently arrived to take charge, and was given a formal reception by Government officials. He said that similar services were being initiated in Australia, where already Queensland had the ibest ambulance service in the world. It would have to be gradually built up here and would he a Godsend to sick and injured.
