PARIS, Sept,. 4. \ Finance Ministry communique expresses satisfaction at the regularity with which the Dawes plan has applied, the first- triennium ending on August 31, constituting a touchstone whether France will obtain payment of an important share by deliveries in kind. The experience has been favourable, and the Ministry is considering the utilisation of subsequent larger annuities' for purposes including the development of railways and ports. LONDON, Sept. 4. The Riga correspondent of "The Times" states that in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Revolution, the Soviet is transforming the house at Ekaterinburg where the Tsar and his family were murdered into a Communist museum exhibiting documents in relation to the Tsar. BERLIN, Sept. 5.
At the international athletics meeting at Hanover, the 800 metres race was won by the German, Engelhardt, with Stallard (England) second. Time, lmin 55sec. The 1500 metres was won by the American, Conger, in 4min IG.4sec. The Englishman, Morgan, w;as second. GENEVA, Sept. 5. Delegations from fifty States have reached Geneva for Monday’s assembly of the League of Nations. Six of the delegations including women, among them being representatives from Britain, Australia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Much interest attaches to the German attitude. Dr Streseinann’s speech is likely to insist that delay in general disarmament is a breach of faith. PARIS, Sept. 4. The whole of France, including 496 ex-servicemen’s organisations, was re-, presented in a long procession, which marched with flying colours through the Place do la Concorde, the Champs Elysec and the Arc de Triomphe after the Sacco-ite desecration of the tomb of the Unknown Warrior. Marshal Joffre officiated at the rekindling of the sacred flame. General Gourand, the City Governor, and others placed wreaths on the tomb, while the great crow'd stood for a minute in silence.
