GENERAL NOTES. Mr W. H. L. Roberts, the local postmaster, intends leaving early this week on his annual month’s holiday, which will "be spent in Auckland. Mrs Roberts and lie will make the trip by motor car. Mr D. H. Briggs entered the Hawera Hospital at the latter and of last week for treatment, which it is expected will extend over a month at least. Mr D. J. Kehely is making .satisfactory progress towards recovery at this Kaponga Hospital. Constable O’Donoghue returned to duty on Thursday after a (three weeks’ vacation spent at Hamilton. The recently revived _ Kaponga Cricket Club is fortunate in the possession of a strong financial start, for, in addition to the credit balance bequeathed by the old club, voluntary contributions to the extant of nearly £4O have been promised to the funds as the result of a canvass by Mr Morgan Priest.
