ASHBURTON TO CHRISTCHURCH RACE. (by telegraph—press association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 3. Seventy riders competed in the 53 n iles New Zealand amateur road race from Ashburton to Christchurch. The results are:— L. J. Peace (14min) 1 Knankivell (7min) 2 C. O. Voice (lOmin) 3 The fastest time was secured by L. G. Lukey (scr), he covering the distance in 2’nrs 57min 37 l-ssee.
WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP. WELLINGTON, Sept. 4. The 50 mile cycling race % for the Wellington provincial championship resulted:— S. Webber (14min) 1 Chennott (12min) 2 Stalker (12min) 3 Carswell did fastest time in 2hr 13min 19sec. T. Oakley ivas next three seconds behind. Carswell will represent, Wellington in the 50 mile championship at Auckland next Saturday.
