MAIL BAG ROBBERY.

£BOOO TN TREASURY NOTES DISAPPEAR. <Y CARL* - PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 3. A great mail bag robbery resulted in the disappearance of £BOOO in Treasury notes, and there is no trace of the packages, which were taken by two officials from the Bournemouth branch of the National Provincial Bank to the post office, registered as -usual and placed in a mail bag which was sealed and entrained along with many others for London, stopping only at Southampton. On arrival at Waterloo station the nost office collectors noticed that one bag bore the seal of another post office than Southampton. The .seal had been broken and another substituted. The bag was filled with waste paper after the thieves had abstracted the notes. It- is stated that during August, the chief holiday month at Bournemouth, the branch transmits as much as £75,000 weekly to London.
