ADDITIONAL. BUSINESS TRANSACTED.

After “The Hawera. Star” went- to press on Saturday afternoon, the executive of the A. and P. Association transacted, among other business, that given herein. . It was agreed, as suggested by the chairman, that every effort practicable be made to cut down expenses, and he said one way was in the matter of judges, who would all be local or provincial men, whose expenses would not be large. ; The secretary reported that prize monev had been cut down by £B6. viz., horses £39, pigs £2O 15s, milking Shorthorns £7, Friesian,» £4, and sheep £ls 15s. In connection with the draught section, Mr. McCay reported that each of of the committee had agreed to donate £1 towards a trophy to be held by the association until won outright. Mr. E. Parsons, Whenuakura, offered to send ur> his Oorriedale sheep for exhibition only. The Canvassing Committee reported that it had met with much success. It was agreed that a, strong effort lie made to secure specials from the leading business houses in Wellington and also from the dairy produce firms. It was resolved that the same committee as before interview, when appropriate, the Borough and County Councils in connection with finance arrangements. _ . Mr. D. Stewart said he and his fellow stewards would do all the work in connection with the pig section and obviate all outside labour. The same offer was made by the ring and sheen .stewards, and a member undertook to give two days’ work before the show. Resignations.—Four were received, but it was decided to hold them over until after the canvass had lieen, made. It Avas resolved that the horse parade he held on Saturday, September 17. A suggestion was recoi\ 7 ed and, approved that if .possible a parade .of attic he held oh the second morning of the show in the rings or in the open, in addition to the grand parade The napping of accounts concluded the meeting.
