ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
CAR COLLIDES WITH BRIDGE. (by TELEGRAPH— press association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 2. A six-cylinder limousine car belonging to Carter the Great was badly wrecked in an accident on a bridge over a creek at Takanini, on the Great South Road, at an early hour this morning. The ear was found by another party of motorists lying on its side on the side of the road, with the lights on. The driver of Carter’s car, a man named Young, was badly cut about the face, while another member of Carter’s company,, named Fergusson, was badly shaked' and had a wound on his face. The accident was caused 1 hv the driver failing to notice a sudden curve in the road. The ear struck the first and second supports on one side of the bridge, and these concrete pillars were snapped off and shot into the stream. The two injured men received attention at a surgery at Papakura.
FOUND DEAD' AT OFFICE. MASTERTON, Sept. 2. William Gillispie, a commission agent, was found dead in his office this morning, where lie had slept, after working late last night. DTED AS RESULT OF EXPLOSION. C’HRTSTCHURCH, Sent. 2. B. E. Dyson, manager for J. J.Niven, •Ohrieitichlurch, d'ed on the wav to hospital as a result of an explosion white trying a. burner in «.n oil burning furnace. Nobody else' was injured.
