(BV TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, August 31. A meeting of the New Zealand executive of tne Red Crosi, Society and the Order of St John was held today. . Further correspondence was received from the Trained Nurses’s Association as to a post-gracluate course of nursing at Otago University. It was resolved that the Red Cross could not subscribe, as no funds were available. All the peace-time funds in the society’s hands had to go to the maintainance of the work by the Red Cioss nurses. It was decided that a further sum of £4700 be transferred from the Post Ofike Savings Bank to the Public Trust Office, making the total funds placed with the Public Trustee now £9700. . . Correspondence was Received fiom the secretary-general of the League of Red Cross Societies stating that three vice-presidents had been appointed, and Lieut.-Co. Draufit, vice-president of the German Red Cross Society, had been appointed. • - . \ letter was received from the chairman of the Board of Governor’s League of the Red Cross Societies regarding the international organisation of the Uocl Cross which had been adopted by a large majority at the meeting of the board of governors m Paris on May i. Tne resolutions briefly provide for, (1) the convening of a. unified international conference every four years (the conference possesses deliberative poweis only; it cannot take any action affecting the statutes); (2) the board ol governors will meet every two yeans, (3) the international committee and the league will retain their independence, their executive autonomy, their statutes, and their by-laws. These resolutions were adopted by the executive. it was decided that the financial vear of the society close on December 31 instead of March. 31. as formerly. The, No. I account showed a balance of £11.231 16s 3d. and the No. 2 account «i> balance of £33,4/2 13s ocl. A resolution was passed of appreciation of the work of the Red Gross nurses.
