AN INTERESTING DECISION
(BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 30. The Greymouth traffic inspector proceeded against the British Imperial Oil Company, Ltd., for permitting a motor lorry to bo used in Greymouth without a heavy traffic license being obtained. Mr. Meldrum, S.M., .said that the license should have been taken also at Greymouth, as Christchurch and .Greymouth'were not in the same heavy traffic district. The case was a. test one. and a heavy penalty was not asked. Defendants were convicted and fined £2. with costs. This decision affects the company’s lorries at Ashburton and Timani.
