WOOL SALES AT SYDNEY. M CAKI.fi-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, Aug. 29. The first wool sales of the 1927-28 series has’ commenced. Competition is strong and well sustained. Compared with the level of values ruling at the June sales, the market has advanced 5 per cent, for the best lines of fleece and skirtings, and also for lambs’ wo-oL and weaners, whilst other descriptions are unchanged. Very full and satisfactory clearances have been made. Greasy Merino sold to 29d.

FARMERS’ CO-OP. ADVICE. The Farmers’ Co-op O'rganisAtion Society of New Zealand have x-eoeived the following cabled advice from their London representatives : Butter.—-Market slow, but quotations firm; New Zealand and Australian, 168 s to 170 s; Danish, 170 s f.o.b. Cheese steady, 9Ls to 925.
