CABINET MINISTER RESIGNS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, .Aug. 28. There was a mild sensation in Dublin when it was announced that Mr Walsh, the Minister >of Post and Telegraphs, was resigning and not contesting the election. It was reported that he is abandoning politics. The “Daily Herald” describes him as always something of an Ishmael in the Cabinet. “He is a whole-hog Protectionist and an ultra-Nationalist. ” It is announced that the Sinn Fein Party is not participating in the elections'. It is stated that this is due to antagonism to Mr De Valera’s acceptance of the oath.
