NOT SUPPORTED BY UNION'. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 11.25 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Aug. 29. The Maheno’s stewards and cooks have been notified by the New Zealand Union that they will not be supported in their strike." It is hoped that this will have the effect of inducing the men to rejoin the ship to-day. The Union Company’s management remains firm in its decision not to replace the chief and second stewards, to whom the men object.
