NORTH TARANAKI ASSOCIATION,
Mr. C. G. Bottrill presided at a meeting of the Management Committee of tiie North Taranaki Association at Noav Plymouth on Friday evening. It, Avas decided to confirm the action ■of the committee in the engagement of a coach and stated that the coach would leave England oil September 16. The annual meeting Avas fixed for September 20 and the annual report gas been submitted to the chairman and approved.
Two clauses in a notice of motion giA-en by the chairman are, of special irterest —that one member of the management committee be a junior and that the committee arrange to add a representation from the primary schools.
TIIE NEW ZEALANDERS’' TOUR,
The decisive" win from Norfolk adds another to the list of successes by the New- Zealanders. The opposing team, although not a first-class county, includes several find players, M. Falcon, G. A. SteA*ens and Coldham all being well-known batsmen, Avhile Falcon is considered one of the leading bowlers among the counties. There are several interesting matches yet to be played; those Avith Kent and Leveson Gower’s NI. being the outstanding fixtures. The hop county has a a - cry strong side and it is almost certain that the latter team ill be chosen to test out the tourists. The personnel has not been announced, lut it is much to be hoped that LeA’eson Gower, formerly -one of the best known and outsranding players of proA'ious years, will get together a side which Avill give the New Zealanders an opportunity of playing against some of England’s best players.
