EGG MARKET.
PRICE EASING AND PRODUCTION INCREASING.
Tlic supply of eggs is reported iby those in the trade to bo rapidly increasing, with the natural result of an easing in prices, which are now quoted by the circle as 1/9, with a tendency to drop still further. This, it is understood, is usual at this time of the year, though it is somewhat later this season owing to the cold wet weather of the past few T weeks. As a rule the young birds are laying well at this time, but the cold and wet has put them back and they are not laying so well as the old birds. This, however, is probably only temporary, and when they recover the supply will be further augmented with a rapid fall in prices for eggs. It will be a distinct benefit to the householder, though not so satisfactory to the grower, and it will probably result in a large number of eggs going into “preserve. •' •’
