FOR BABY’S BED.

Chaff is greatly to b© recommended as a filling for baby's bed. It is inexpensive, and can be bought from a corn chandler’s or froom some of tire large stores. Before it is put in the cover it should be freed from dust and dirt and fumigated. Both processes are simx>le and can be don© at home. To dean the chaff place a large piece of mus’in over a zinc bath or other receptacle and lightly heat with the hands, turning the chaff over .and over. In this way the dust is pressed through the muslin into the bath. The chaff is then ready to be fumigated. Place in a large tin in a moderate oven and turn every few minutes to prevent burning. Chaff is also an excellent filling for baby’s pillow. Being firm, the head does not sink into it, vso that overheating is avoided.
