The bulk of the good and medium crutchings were secured by Japanese, Australian and American buyers, with local scourers taking the seedy and inferior parcels. Local mills were well in the market for good halfbred and merino crutchings, and also took any lots of fleece of same qualities which were free from seed. The offering of crossbred fleece Was small, the majority of the lines catalogued being seedy and inferior.
