Mr. Justice Stringer will shortly reach the age for the retirement 'of Supreme Court Judges. That age is 72 vears, and His Honour will reach it on November 4 next. Tn view of the pressure of work, however, it will cause no surprise if His Honour is asked to continue his duties for a time. Mr. Justice Stringer -was appointed Judge in Christchurch early in 1914, and has tilled the office with distinction and to the great satisfaction of those with whom he has been associated. Apart from the question of his retirement from the Bench, he will continue to preside as chairman of the War Pensiens Appeal Board.
