CHURCH UNITY.
CONFERENCE CONCLUDED. PROCEEDINGS BECOME RUFFLED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COP YRCGHT. Received 2 p.m. to-day. LAUSANNE, Aug, 21. The world conference on Faith and Order has impressively concluded. A statement was adopted regarding the Sacraments, recognising that under certain conditions their ispirtual value might be realised through Divine grace. The conference trusted that the differences preventing full communion would be removed. The proceedings in connection with the unity of churches became ruffled owing to an American Episcopalian, Dr. Moorehouse, objecting to the formation of a council of churches without the authority of the chuirch, which will consider the reports. The conference urges youths and women to accept a share of the responsibility for endeavouring to reach the truth. —A.P.A. and “Sun.’
