EXCITING CHASE.

HYDRO-PLANE! v. TRAWLER, INCIDENT IN FIRTH OF CLYDE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 2.20 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Aug. 21. A sensational chase occurred in the Firth of Forth. A fishery cruiser, the Vigilant, sighted a trawler working the Otter trawl off Aiila Craig. The trawler fled, abandoning the net, which was valued at £IOO. The vigilant despatched a hydro-plane, which devoloped a speed of forty miles per hour, overhauled the trawler, whose crew, disguised with blackened faces, ignored the command to stop. The pursuers, using a boat hook, dragged off the canvas -aiding the trawelr’s identification marks, which they noted and the chase was abandoned. —“Sydney Sun” cable.
