SENTENCES AT CHRISTCHURCH. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION, j CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. IS. At the Supreme Court, James Gordon Bennett, aged 23, for assaulting a man on a ferry steamer in a brawl, was sentenced to a month/si imprisonment. James Ignatius O’Connell, aged 40, for indecent assault, was sentenced to a year's imprisonment, dating from May 12.
