CLEARING UP PROCEEDS. FURTHER PAYMENT TO COME. The Dairy Produce Board, in a circular dated August 8, stated that statements of shrinkages had been posted to all factories and each would be debited with amount of shrinkage. The shrinkages on various shipments varied from 2.177 per cent, on 4.994 crates to 2.94 per cent, on 2.354 crates. In regard to prices So per cent, of the total cheese in the pool had been sold at an average price of S3s per cwt. and at present cheese was selling at 92s to 93s per cwt. It was expected the final return to factories would be in excess of the 7f f.o.b. average value given in a previous circular. This average meant a nett total payment for superfine of 7.36 d (including a premium of fd); first, 7.lid; second, (i.Sfld. The staff was now engaged in checking each factory’s shipments and reconciling the figures and when that was completed a second interim payment would be made early in September of about fd per lb. It was considered probable that prices would be up to 100 s before Christmas.
