Freeman, Wellington, in the amateur billiard championship on Saturday at the Federal Ctub. Wellington. Freeman, purely a stroke player, had all the running and the luck and missed little. Morrison struggled against adversity, made up ,arrears and went neck and neck till near 500. when Freeman left the balls safe. Morrison, instead of being cautious, played riskv shots, ,such as long screw losers almost on the cushion, leaving good positions, from which Freeman scored freely, and, in the. last stage, lie put on 180 while Morrison scored 40. Freeman’s average was 8.8. His breaks were: 30, 42, 2< , 41, 25, 61. Morrison’s breaks were: 41, 27, 34, 29. 30. 33, 30. In the evening Tucker (Federal) met Fowke, a young Wellington player with a. nice touch and real skill, but lacking experience. He will do well. Tucker, a .seasoned championship player, won easily. The scores were : Tucker 666. Fowke 376. * Warren and Roberts-., -e-acli of whom have been three times champion, play on Mondav night.
