The War Office states that there is no intention at present to reduce the British army on the Rhine, which mow consists of 7500 men, though it will he (gradually reduced 'in accordance with the terms of the peace treaty. He adiled that the work carried out had been effective, and very little of the portion of the building left standing would have to come down. The Short-Bristol Crusader type of high-speed seaplane which is to form one of the six machines to be sent to Venice in connection with the British entry for the Schneider trophy, was seen* for the first time yesterday. The machine is a monoplane with a Bristol Mercury 0-cylinder air-cooled engine of original design. The Crusader is considered the lightest loaded machine for horse-power in existence.
