A TRAGIC DISCOVERY

BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL TO THE STAR. STRATFORD, Aug. 10. A profound sensation was caused this morning when it becamei known that Hector McMillan, eldest eon of the Mayor of Stratford, Mr J. W. McMillan, had been found dead on the Sportsdale tennis court, with a revolver beside th©_ body. He bad a brilliant career at the local school and at the Otago University, but his health broke down some years ago as the result of overstudy. Last night the Mayor and Mrs McMillan went orn-a visit, leaving the deceased and another boy at home. When thev returned the boys were not up, and it was presumed that they had gone to bed. This morning, however, the younger brother found that Hector had not slept in his bed.
