PATEA HOSPITAL BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. | \t the ordinary meeting of the Pa tea Hospital Board, held yesterday, the chairman (Mr. C, R. Honeyfield) presided, and there were also present Messrs. Watson, Middleton. Seown, Belton, Back, Johnston, and Watkins. The medical superintendent (Dr. Simmons') reported as below: In hospital. 28; admitted, 26; discharged, 26: died, one; remaining, 27. The matron reported on (Langes in the nursing staff. A staff nurse had been secured from Blenheim to take over duty on October 1. Mr. Watson reported for the visiting Committee that more fuel was essential. He suggested the use of move coal rather than cutting down the trees. He urged the need for repairs to the old laundry, where there was recently a narrow escape from fire. Three tenders were received for the erection of a. new laundry. After a short discussion, the matter was left to a committee to deal with. In addition to the building, there would he further expenditure estimated to be Cl iq on the provision of machinery. Messrs. Back and Watson were appointed a visiting committee for the current month.
