Hawke’s Bay for the Ranfurly Shield, this union notifies the Taranaki, Alanawhenua, and Canterbury Rugby Unions that, in the event of Hawke’s Bay being defeated in any of these games, and the result of the protest being in our favour, the shield be forwarded to the' New Zealand Rugby Union with a. request that it he handed over to the first successful challenger; failing the parent body not agreeing to our wishes, the shield to be retained by the Hawke’is Bay Rushy Union.” The Hawke’s Bay Union to-day notified the New Zealand Union that it would a open 1 to the New Zealand Apnea! Council against the decision of the New Zealand Management Committee in the Wairarapa protest, The Hawke’s Bay Union is now preparing its ease for submission to the Appeal Council.
