CA-Uhti- BltKtl£> ASSOCIATION—OOF i ill UHT LONDON, J irly 25 The Pacific Cable Board, inoiutiiiiig vSLr Camipbelil Htiuw't, con.siidered the Crisis caused by Sir Campbell Stuart’s refusal of mauagershiip. Mr. M. F. Neadlam (chairman), representing the Treasury, submitted Sir Campbell Smart’s letter, in which lie insisted that the chairmanship was a wlujle time job, with whole time remuneration, whioh his membership of 20 directorates rendered impossible. It iis understood that the board is unable to proceed to appoint a manager until authorised by the respective Go.’vernmenits, to whom the matter lias been referred. It is pointed out that Sir Campbell Stuart is Canada’s nominee, therefore it is probable that Canada will nominate a successor, subject- to the approval of Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
