On Saturday, a Maori named Manga - roa, and known, locally aa “Shark - eye,” became ill at Pongarna, near Ngjaruiawahia through drinking methylated spirits by mistake for whisky, and died to-day. DEATH: AFTER DIGGING UP A TREE. HAMILTON, July 25. James Walken, aged 74, met with an accident while digging- up a tree last week and subsequently collapsed, dying to-dav. Deceased was a popular identity at Ngarna.wahia.
