ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. There was a. good attendance ol members at tlie annual general meeting ol the JOltham Takau Sheep .Dog Trial Club, held yesterday in the Mangamingi ilall, tne president (Mr. i.. E. Jackson) being in the chair. In moving the adoption of report and balance sheet, the chairman said that members would be pleased to eec the satisfactory state oi the financial position, there being a. credit balance of T 90 —an improvement of £40 —during test- year. The sunt of £2O had, in addition, been added to the prize money. He believed that his suggestion for altering the name of the club had been timely, because it had resulted m the addition of many special prizes. These now totalled nearly seventy, of which thirty came from Elsham.

In regard to the championship trials, he said he noticed that they were allotted to Hawera- but the members should always endeavour to keep its interests before the public si.d to endeavour to secure the honour for Elcham Takau Club. Dealing with the balance sheet, tne chairman said there had been improvements in donations of £ll—nominations £2 and tickets £2 — ; while there had been a saving in printing and catering. He added that the social aspect of the club was very valuable and worth encouraging. There had been a good profit on the concert and this also was a useful adjunct. The actual expenses for the three days’ trial were quite reasonable and showed the care taken by the committee and treasurer. Hei had been sorry to seo that they were- not tetter supported by Aiangacbu Club, only live accepting out of twenty nominations. It was good to work ul friendly rivalry, but it might be necessary to revise the local boundaries. In regard to the future, he- said that if the club was to continue to succeed it must keep up to the best standard and must be prepared to increase the prize money. Hunt cioingratulated the- secretaries on the excellent way the balance- sheet was drawn u-p. 'Plie motion to adopt was- earned. The chairman endorsed Hr. On the suggestion of the chairman it was resolved that the prizes given be reviewed, and alter a good deal ot discussion several additions were made. Acknowledging a hearty vote or thanks. Air L. E. Jackson, the president. said he had intended retiring, but would continue, as it was the wish of the meeting. He congratulated all 1 lie officials on the success achieved, and hoped they would continue to work together for the good of the club.
