A Detroit message states that, ihe aviator Gi-.'cCs gives details of ills projected flight to Australia- as follows: Start August It, first- stop San Francisco, then, competing in the Dolerace, lie will make for Hawaii, .afterwards proceeding to Brisbane, then to Sydney and to Wellington. Mr. Giles's trip As financed by Mr. W. Rosewarne, a Detroit contractor. Mr. Giles was born -in Australia. Hi.s ’plane, Miss Bluebird, hi equipped with Wright motors and storage tanks for six hundred gallons of gasoline. The longest leg of the journey, Hawaii to Brisbane, is 4809 miles, wliioh is the farthest- non-stop flight ever yet attempted. Commenting on the trip, Mr. Giles said that the main object was to promote a better feeling between Australia -and America. “I. am also a
