STORY-TELLING.
HAWERA CLASS STUDIES. A large and very appreciative audience attended the story-telling class held in the home of Airs. Sutton, Cameron Stret, on Thursday evening, 35 being present. Alr.s. L. O. 11. Barbour opened the meeting with a few introductory remarks. She spoke on the importance of approaching an adolescent audience in the way likely to be productive ol the highest results- Mrs. Barbour explained that at this period the weighing and critical faculties are awakened and the work attended by many difficulties which it was the story-teller’s work to study. Several students took part by telling stories which were subjected to criticism. The happy evening concluded by the handing round of supper. Mrs. Harbour announced that owing to her intended departure, it would be impossible to concede to the request to extend the classes, but must make the next, to be held on Thursday, 28th, the last. This would be held in the home of Airs. Walter Powdrell, Princes Street Extension.
