WAR OFFICE CONTRACTS
WHERE SUPPLIES COME FROM. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 12.30 p.m. to-day. LONDON, July 14. Answering Air. P. Hurd, Air King, Under-Secretary for the War Office, stated that the value of the War Office headquarters contracts for foodstuffs (meat) for 1927 to date was about £675,000. The proportion of home production was IS per cent., overseas (Empire) 70 (foreign) 12. Information was not available regarding other purchases for local contracts, home and foreign stations. It must be realised that the figures do not necessarily represent the for the whole year.—-A.P.A. and “Sun.”
