Hurd, Air King, Under-Secretary for the War Office, stated that the value of the War Office headquarters contracts for foodstuffs (meat) for 1927 to date was about £675,000. The proportion of home production was IS per cent., overseas (Empire) 70 (foreign) 12. Information was not available regarding other purchases for local contracts, home and foreign stations.
