OKAIAWA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

TENNIS CLUB’S BALL

A fine night and an attractive fixture drew a good crowd to the Okaiawa Tennis Club ball on Thursday. As usual the hall and supper-room had been beautifully decorated with gay-coloured streamers, flowers and evergreens, the lovely acacia and hardenbergia predominating. This important work was carried out under the direction of Mrs. 0. Crawford, a lady whose taste in blending colours fits her so well for the position. Supper was provided in that lavish way for which our ladies are noted. Mr. D. Crawford (the hon. secretary) and Mr. O. Crawford (M.C.) carried out their duties in a capital manner, while the music left nothing to be desired. The ball was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. CONCERT. The concert advertised to take place in the hall did not eventuate owing to the major portion of the performers failing to put in an appearance. The concert will now be held on Monday evening.
