Tito decision of tin* Teachers' Appeal Court in the appeal of Catherine I'tschereini.ssiiioff against (Ivor dismisvsal by the Board cl Governors of the Wellington Girls’ College, was promulgated at Wellington yesterday. It states; that appellant wa.s not wholly unfitted as nv teacher, but. was unfitted to teach such .subjects a« Kngii.-h and English hisitory, and possibly situ: la r subject* which required a thorough knowledge of English and of English pronunciation. Under the circumstances the board was justified in. refusing to retain appellant in its fc-r----victe for isnnli a school as tlie Wellington Girl’ Coliiege. In view of the eircu mwt .ance's, thowover, the court considers the 'board should have dispensed with appellant <:n the- proper grounds of economy in administration. and not liave levelled against her .sweeping accusations of general inefficiency as a teacher of mil subjects.
