Received 2.5 p.m. to-day. LONDON, July 12
Asked if the Board of Trade was aware that Norman Shaw, a lighthouse keeper in Argyll, was dismissed on account of his refusal to accept wireless instruction on Sundays, the president (Sir P. Cunliffe-Lister) replied that the authority in question was the Clyde Lighthouse Trustees, an independent body. Shaw refused to replace the chief lighthouse keeper when he broke down in testing tlie wireless on Sunday, whereupon he was dismissed.
