Sir Thomas J. .Horder said there was a more hopeful tendency in recent research. The Duke o;f York, who was re-elect eel president, wrote expressing the heartfelt hope that discoveries would soon be made. The council acceded with the greatest satisfaction to the Sydney University committee’s application for affiliation, and empowered it to nominate a representative on the council. The Duke of York, referring to Sir William Goodwin’s appointment, said: “I know bis enthusiasm for the cause of cancer research will awaken much sympathy and help.” Queensland congratulated Sydney University on the formation of a research centre.
