The Northern Steamship Company s steamer Claymore, which was scheduled to reach Whang,a,red, at about three o clock this morning, grounded on a mud bank below O'nerahi. As it was nearly lull tide when she hit the bank, nothing could be done till thiiis afternoon's tide. The passengers were landed at O'nerahi ]>er launch and brought to Whaiigu.rei by motor.

A heavy north-west gale accompanied by rain was prevailing when the vessel got ashore. A rough trip was experienced from Auckland.
