HOTEL WORKERS
NEW AWARD FILED. (BY TELEGRAPH- PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, July 9. The New Zealand Federated Hotel and Restaurant award which has been filed, provides for a 48 hours week and I not more than ten hours in any day, [without paying overtime. The wages provided range from £5 5s and £4 14s for male and female chief cooks, where six or more hands Ore employed, to £3 2s and £2 J(is respectively, where two hands are employed and £2 !)s (>d and £2 3s (id where one hand is employed. Other workers are to be paid £2 7s Od and £1 19s for male and female workers. Kitchen hands attending to the boiler will be paid 5s per week extra. (Head waiter will receive £2 19s (id, head waitress £1 18s. ithers £1 15s; pantryman £2 7s (id, day porter £2 7s (id, night £2 9s fid.
