NO SETTLEMENT YET. VOLUNTEER WORKERS ENGAGED BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— ’OPY RIGHT. Received 11.5 a.m. to-day. BRISBANE. July 11. The parties concerned in the South Johnstone sugar mill strike failed to reach a settlement of - the dispute. Proposals, for a settlement put forward by the Board of Trade were accepted by tiie men, but were rejected by' the employ ere. The mill is at present working two shifts with volunteer labour, and there are 24' cane cutting gangs- working.
