ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. “THE SEA BEAST.” The wonderful Master picture “The Sea Beast,” starring the screen’s greatest lover, John Barrymore, opens n two-night season at the Opera House to-night. His interpretation of Captain Aliab in “The Sea Beast” lifts John Barrymore above every previous effort on the screen. In this role are those contrasting values which make for truly great acting. A sturdy man gives battle to the monster of the deep, a huge white whale, weighing 90 tons, and is torn and crippled for life. Fear of pity ages this youth, and when fate mocks him into the belief that the girl lie loves has been won by another, hate scorches his soul. Miss Dolores Costello plays the leading feminine role. GRA XD THEATRE—TO-NIG HT. “BUTTERFLIES IN THE RAIN.” A very popular programme opens a two-night season at the Grand Theatre to-night. Something new in spicy comedv-drama is offered in “Butterflies in the Rain,” featuring Laura La Plante and James Kirkwood. A good story rounds out the trio of essentials for the best picture of the month. Miss La Plante glides through the picture like a beautiful comet throwing an aura of fascinating sheen about herself. The supporting programme is of high merit.
