r (By “Limited.”) The weather was beautifully fine and the grass track m good order at the ’Hawera racecourse yesterday morning. V\ r . Pine was first out with his Wellington winter meeting candidates and sent Killoch and Denier for a gallop over five furlongs on the middle grass track. Denier jumped out well, but the mare soon joined him, the pair cutting out the first two furlongs in 27se,c. Denier had slightly the best of the spin at the end of the gallop in 1.7 4-5, and he finished impressively. Eiiaic and Bevis worked out over a mile together and registered, fair time. GaiLLard went *by .himself over a circuit jilt U goo.d three-quarter pace. Taitaiata. was exercised and Trofims was- worked- later. Tho horses mentioned above are due to -leave for Wellington on Saturday by mail train. J- Fryer ha® 'recommissioned Paitonu after a .short, spell. He looks well, land avuis t ratted mi-d ca-utercd round tih-e rinsi.de. Bright Glow was given half pace work on the sand. J. Bi-own gave Silver Rule. the coming two-year-old by Chief Ruler—'Silver Link, in his stable, her first sprint with Avola’s .sister, Fermanagh, for company. The pair cantered round •and stretched out over the last two furlongs a, couple of times. The- voungsteT acquitted herself quite creditably. Fermanagh. which is a., year older, proved a nice nneotma.ker. Euphonium and Bonogue- were, given exercise work, alsq Lady Acre.
