REP. RUGBY.

TARANAKI v. WELLINGTON

TO-MORROW’S ENCOUNTER. The Taranaki-Wellington representative Rugby fixture at Hawera to-mor-row will mark the continuation of a long series of clashes in which the chosen of the two provinces have provided many thrilling exhibitions of Hie game. Taranaki supporters have not, on their own grounds, had an opportunity of seeing a Wellington team in action since 1925. On that occasion the Wellington combination, which included the All Blacks Svenson, Nicholls and Porter, showed superiority by winning by 20 points to 11, hut last season the Taranaki touring team reversed the tables in decisive manner by trouncing Wellington on the latter’s ground to the tune of 30 to 12. Taranaki can hardly hope to reproduce tomorrow the easy victory of 1926, as the Wellington combination is reported 1o show a greatly improved standard this year, and indications are for a wellcontested struggle, which should prove worth going a. long way to see. The: school match to be played a® a prelude to the big fixture should be a bright display, as both teams have been playing attractive football. If will be a decided attraction, and will help materially to bring the crowd from all over the province. Standish and Moor, of the Hawera school fifteen, are unable to play on account of sickness, but a good team will take the field. The school teams are as follow : Stratford Technical High School.

Full-back, V. King; three-quarters, W. Sullivan, F. Young, J. Crowley; five-eighths. R. Bourke, C. Sangster; half, E. Townsend; rover R. Raff; forwards, W. Alderson, B. Wickstead, C. Walker, A. Mills, H. Lilley, M. Thantson, B. Claridge. Hawera High School.

Full-hack, A. Dowdle; three-quarters, H. Barker, M. Morrison, J. Petersen; five-eighths, R. Morrissey, R. Murdoch ; liaif, T. Guy; rover, A. Robertson; forwards, D. Wills, C. Meharrv, J. Gower. A. Clement, G. Nicholas, L. Pacey, P. Kippenberger.
