Mr. Percy H. Cox, of Tinakori Road. Wellington,' whoso death has occurred at Christchurch, was the eldest son of the late Mr. Percy Cox, ot Christchurch, and grandson ot the late Bishop Harper, Primate of New Zealand. He was educated at Christ s College, Christchurch, and after leaving school entered the Bank of Australasia. remaining in its service until his retirement two years ago, when chief inspector in New Zealand After his retirement from the hank. Mr. Cox was appointed by the Government as a member of the Royal Commission to make a. world tour of investigation into the various forms of rural credit for an agricultural bank system. \n this work he was associated with Colonel Fsson and Mr. Poison, and his sound knowledge of hanking, it was stated, was of the greatest value in framing the report. The late Mr. Cox was in his vnung days an athlete and footballer. He was the New Zealand cbnmninn ha lf-miler in 1889. He nlaved for Wairarapa and Southland in representative football matches in 1888 and 1889. He was also a keen lawn tennis player.
