A REDUCTION FAVOURED

The international Chambers of Commerce Congress unanimously adopted a resolution which advocated the lowering of tariff barriers, more equitab.e treatment of foreigners and examination of import and export prohibitions. ’ Sir .vruiur Salter, director of the economic and finance section of the League of Nations, in an address on “How best to derive practical results from the Economic Conference,” said that the League asked to be pushed. Above all it wanted the commercial push of official forces, without which ttie League could not advance.
