BOWLING

VISIT TO GREAT BRITAIN. The following extracts from the annual re-port of the Wellington Bowling Centre will be read by bowler-s: “With regard to -a return visit of a party of bowlers from New Zealand to Great Britain, there lias .been some informal discussion, and it might be suggested tliialt the question should be further advanced at the annual meeting of the Dominion Bowling Association. It is probable that there are some members of this centre who would be pleased .to join in la welii-arranged tour to include a return visit to Great Britain, it will 'be remembered that the centre forwarded a, remit to the Dominion Council suggesting that international games should be arranged in turn in different countries comjprisiing the British Commonwealth of Nations. The. remit was approved, and it was decided to write to the bowling lassoedatio.ns of Great Britain, Australia. Canada, find South Africa on the lines suggested. The question does not appear -tq have advanced to a, much further stage than this at present.”

BOWL TESTING. The Dominion Council Lad published and circulated the revised laws of the game, and the rules of the constitution of the association. Tlie-re no material alterations, but many doubtful points had been made more clear, and the phraseology improved. One new rule which tournament players would come in contact noth provided that the D.N.Z.8.A., 1925, and the !.stamps of subsequent years were now the only Dominion test stamps recognised. That might have the effect of finding out a few narow bowls; hut it would prdbably be a source of irritation to the great body of the bowlers who played 1 with full drawing bowls, and who had -had them tested before 1925. In -any ease, the stamp was only a, passport, as any bowl was subject to challenge and would be taken charge of by any umpire if he thought it advisable. Moreover, tire bowks of players must be tested before the commencement of tournament finals.
