To assist the funds of the new hall the Tokaora committee held a shop day yesterday at the premises opposite the Post Office. There were ample supplies of produce and other goods, and excellent business was done, the takings exceeding £23. In the competitions, the sheep guessing and cake guessing provoked much competition. The former was won by Mr. X. Hunt (Mokoia), who guessed the correct weight, 1091 b, while the cake was won by Mr. Mc-Donell after a tie with Mrs. Murdoch and Mr. Laverv. The committee, of which Mr. Tippett is hon. secretary', is very grateful to the public, who lent generous support and thus enabled them to secure a valuable addition to its funds.
