WINDOW DISPLAYS.

Ti.e local shopkeepers have gone to much trouble in the matter of window decorations, the result being a worthy and attractive display. There is a surprising variety of goods of New Zealand origin, , including footwear, clothing, chemicals, bruisliware, leather goods, etc. Those who have entered the competition have been ailoted numbers, and their windows bear notice to that effect. The display is said bythose well qualified to know to be one of the best yet seen. Yesterday a conference was held between Messrs Collins and Schmitt, of the Industries and Commerce Department, and Messrs Bone and Bennett, representing the Retailers’ Association. After discussion it was decided that the judging should he done early next week by the secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department and the advisory accountant.
