LARGE ATTENDANCES.
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. ■ : '\J MANY FA VOT R A BIX OPINIONS. V, The -success attending the opening of the big Winter Show was very marked, an interested arncl deli silted throng attending to hear the speech of the Minister of Industries and! merce and the chairman of the show executive and other speakers. AH the visiting speakers strongly emphasised their appreciation of the exliibition, and many encomiums were passed by visiting exhibitors and by leading men from other parts of the Dominion. All the afternoon and evening the big hails were well, filled by spectators, who took a keen interest in all they saw and heard. The result, which is almost certain to be achieved in the magnificent display of New Zealand manufactures and industries-; —a real eye-opener to probably the majority of those who have viewed the ‘‘Hall for New Zealand Manufactures” will be a decided impetus towards the bion of the slogan, “New Zealanders, support your own industries.” _ The educational value of the exhibition is stressed very much by all the leading business men of the centres, and its effort to bring the people of town and country closer together is considered, and rightly so, most commendable.
The ciuema theatre, dealing only in New Zealand films, which is shown daily, in nine sessions, was a happy inspiration and is certain to help in the same direction. Yesterday delighted attendances of the public packed the specially arranged room and watched the pictures with great interest.
